Google Page Experience Algorithm Update Will Now Be Launched in Mid-June

Google has recently announced that its page experience algorithm will now be launched in mid-June 2021.

Google is pushing back the launch of its page experience algorithm from May to mid June. It was previously scheduled to launch in May, by the act of rescheduling this, site owners will get one more month to prepare for their website.

Google has announced this by posting the blog that the update will start rolling out from mid June, but it will take time to fully roll out till august last.

“We’ll begin using page experience as part of our ranking systems beginning in mid-June 2021. However, page experience won’t play its full role as part of those systems until the end of August. You can think of it as if you’re adding a flavoring to a food you’re preparing. Rather than add the flavor all at once into the mix, we’ll be slowly adding it all over this time period.”

The reason for this gradual roll out is to monitor the impact of the update for any unexpected or unintended issues.

There will be no major strike to ranking after this update rolling out, says Google, as page experience will be one of 200 factors taken into consideration while ranking a webpage.

A new page experience report is now available in Google Search Console which combines the core web vital report with other page experience signals such as

• Mobile usability
• Security Issue
• HTTPS Usage
• Ad Experience

The page experience report will measure the percentage of URLs on a website that offers a good experience based on an evaluation on the above factors.

Site owners have access to use all those reports to deep dive into these components of page experience to gain additional insights on opportunities for improvement.

Along with this update, the Search Performance report in Search Console is empowered with the ability to categorize pages with a good page experience. This will help site owners keeping track of how the pages with a good experience compare to other pages on a site.
